Local indie-groove rock band Arnie and the Waves will be taking the stage at Turbo Haus on Sunday, February 1st to tackle a question that has faced humanity since 1987; what does it really mean to ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’?
The most acute of Montreal’s underground music scene may have stumbled upon an Arnie and the Waves show to be presented with their songs ‘Never Gonna Give You Up Part 1’, or ‘Part 4’. They may have asked themselves what the other parts sound like, or wondered why Part 2 and Part 4 are on different albums (their low-fi recordings Everything is on Fire! and Risky Biscuits). For the first time ever, the Never Gonna Give You Up saga will be played in full, along with other groovable gems from the Waves catalogue for a moving Sunday night of music in one of Montreal’s classic underground venues.
Opening the night will be Montreal’s own Your Neighbour Tim, a four-piece band whose music is best described as being somewhere between country-pop and newgrass, featuring four-part vocal harmonies.
Tickets are only $10 in advance, or $15 at the door (or pay what you can, no one will be turned away). Doors open at 7:30pm, with the show starting at 8pm. More details can be found at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1980037278802?aff=oddtdtcreator
