01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Montreal Daily, including reading our news content, browsing or posting to our classifieds and business directory, or registering an account, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
02Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to register an account, post a classifieds listing, or list a business in our directory. You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know immediately at support@montreal-daily.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
03Posting content & community standards
When you post a classified ad, directory listing, or message, you’re responsible for its accuracy and legality. Full rules on what’s allowed, listing duration, and how we moderate content are in our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. We may remove any content, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion, particularly where we believe content violates our guidelines or the law.
04License you grant us
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting a listing, message, or directory profile, you grant Montreal Daily a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on our site and in related promotion of the site, for as long as the listing remains active plus the retention period described in our Privacy Policy.
05Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Montreal Daily, its staff, and affiliates harmless from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the site, your listing or message content, or your violation of these terms or of another person’s rights.
06Intellectual property
Montreal Daily’s articles, photography, and site design are our property or used under licence. Full details on what’s permitted, and how to request permission or report infringement, are in our Copyright & Licensing page.
07Marketplace disclaimer
Montreal Daily provides the classifieds and directory platform but is not a party to any transaction between users. We don’t verify the accuracy of listings, the identity of users beyond what’s stated on their profile, or the quality, safety, or legality of items and services offered.
08Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the site if you violate these terms, our Community Guidelines, or engage in conduct that harms other users or the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@montreal-daily.com.
09Disclaimer of warranties
The site, including news content and the classifieds marketplace, is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing is accurate or that a transaction will be completed successfully.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Montreal Daily is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, disputes between users, or content posted by third parties, including defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of other users.
11Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Quebec, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated review date. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
